SPANISH POP LYRICS SUMMER SPECIAL
HOW TO BE A YÉ-YÉ GIRL: #10 – Have a Life After Yé-Yé
We finish this series by returning to Spain.
Being a yé-yé was usually a short lived career, so it was wise to keep your options open.
Starting out as a precocious child star, Marisol became one of the most memorable Spanish yé-yé girls. However, by the end of the 1960s the genre was on its last legs. In the 1970s Marisol concentrated on her acting career, becoming known as Pepa Flores in a bid to distance herself from her past and be taken more seriously as an actress.
Here she is singing ‘Corazón Contento’, which was also featured in the movie ‘El taxi de los conflictos’ (1969).
