OBJETO SEXUAL By KRAFTWERK July 1, 2012

These are worrying times for the European Union, but the German electro-pop pioneers Kraftwerk have done their bit for European unity by singing songs in German, English, French and Spanish. The international version of their 1986 LP ‘Electric Café’ mixes all four languages together, and it works rather well. However, this completely Spanish version of ‘Sex Object’ was only released in Spain.

The Guardian newspaper has been running an interesting series of articles about European pop. Here is a link to ‘Sounds of Spain’:  http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/jun/18/sounds-europe-spanish-pop with it’s highly debated selection of the top ten Spanish pop songs. Only 3 of the chosen artists appear on this blog, so we clearly have very different opinions!

OBJETO SEXUAL

Sí... no... sí... no...

No quiero ser objeto sexual
Tienes trucos, son casi perfectos.

No quiero ser objeto sexual
Me calientas, despues te vas.

Sí... no... sí... no...

No quiero ser objeto sexual
Tienes trucos, son casi perfectos.

No quiero ser objeto sexual
No ocultes tus sentimientos.

No... sí, si quieres
No... sí, si quieres
Por qué? No. Quizas.
Por qué? No. A lo mejor.
SEX OBJECT

Yes… no… yes… no…

I don't want to be a sex object
You play your tricks, they're almost perfect

I don't want to be a sex object
You turn me on, then you go

Yes… no… yes… no…

I don't want to be a sex object
You play your tricks, they're almost perfect

I don't want to be a sex object
Don’t hide your feelings

No… yes, if you want
No… yes, if you want
Why? No. Maybe.
Why? No. Probably.
