Veneno were a trio formed by Kiko Veneno and the brothers Raimudo and Rafael Amador. They released their only album in 1977. It wasn’t a success at the time, but it has received posthumous critical acclaim for it’s raw fusion of rock and flamenco.

Kiko Veneno went on to a solo career, but he needed to support himself with a day job because it was another 15 years before he had a hit album. Meanwhile, the Amador brothers found success with the group Pata Negra.

ESTRIBILLO:
Me quiero asegurar

Mmm...he reconocido sus huellas
esta noche dormiré con Estrella.

Se me han olvidado todas las oraciones
Los lamentos de los curas y predicadores
Me miro
en el espejo por las mañanas
Y me asombro
THE DELINQUENTS

Me along with all kinds of delinquents
Sometimes they eat cold, sometimes hot
They steal two cars every day
One in the morning and one at night
I am very familiar with their sweetness
And how easily they sort out the trash
In the end they are my downfall
And they sell me like a can of sardines.

CHORUS:
I want to make sure
That my hat is totally broken
So the lightning can strike my head.
I want to win you over
With the soft breeze, cool and free
From my glass fan

I also know the drug dealers
Those who are on the way to being
doctors or admirals
They knock at the doors of my house
Sellers of chains and jewels
And me, I look through the peephole
But someone is covering the glass
with his finger
Hmm ... I’ve recognised his fingerprints
Tonight I’ll sleep with Estrella

I have forgotten all the prayers
The cries of the priests and preachers
I look at myself
in the mirror in the morning
And I’m amazed
I’ve still got the same face
I wonder who here is the strongest
I stretch my ears and I count my teeth
The important ones are on the posters
This car only carries jokers
